The business of academic life at Duke begs for a counterpart, something to balance out the hyper-focused study. For Duke Catholic students, retreats play a vital role in providing a much-needed break from academics and the space to reflect, not just on their life at Duke, but on their relationship with God.
Spring Semester Retreats
Ablaze: Ministry-Wide Retreat
Fan the flames of your discipleship in Christ at the Ablaze retreat February 7-9, 2025 at Camp Agape! This is a perfect opportunity to take time away from busy campus life for adoration under the stars and campfire fellowship.
The $50 registration fee covers transportation, meals, programming, and accommodations at Camp Agape.
Graduate Retreat
Graduate and professional students are invited to attend a retreat tailored just for you! Take a night away from Duke to refresh and renew your spiritual life.
This overnight retreat takes us into the woods of Camp Rockfish, February 15-16. Registration fee is $30 which covers accommodations, programming and meals.
Fall Semester Retreats
Ignite
Join us in the fall semester for our Ignite retreat at the beach! Great for first-year students (and open to all!), the Ignite retreat is a wonderful opportunity to meet and grow in relationships with other Catholic students at Duke.
Beyond budding friendships, Ignite also introduces students to and gives them a taste of the abundance of Catholic opportunities on campus, such as small groups, adoration, music ministry, confession, and more.
This retreat happens each fall semester, usually in early September.
Duc in Altum
The DCC's annual fall retreat, Duc in Altum, is an overnight opportunity to take a short pause, be refreshed in prayer and community, and be strengthened in Christ to take on the rest of the semester.
This retreat typically takes place in early November.
Pilgrimages & Service Trips
Spring Break Service Trip
The DCC will return to Misión Maya in Cancún, Mexico, this Spring Break, partnering with NC State Catholic Campus Ministry, to volunteer on a building project.
Students will have a beautiful and immersive cultural experience while putting their faith into action through service. Registration for this trip is closed but we ask for prayers while our students prepare for and serve during this trip.
Walk the Camino
The DCC will follow in the footsteps of pilgrims dating back to the 9th century this summer! We will walk the Camino in northwestern Spain from Oviedo to Santiago over fourteen days.
Registration for this year's pilgrimage is currently closed. Please keep our pilgrims in your prayers as they prepare for this transformative trip.
