Be a part of the DCC's service and social justice program that involves service opportunities, educational programming, and advocacy. This call to encounter God in service of others is central to our life of discipleship, so our programming is open to all students

Each semester, we explore how our Catholic faith calls us to make a difference in the world. The DCC partners with local nonprofits in Durham to serve our community, take the time to educate ourselves about areas of injustice, and find concrete ways that we can better love our neighbors.

Here are just some of our current service opportunities:

  • Durham Community Food Pantry - provide food to Durham families facing food insecurity.
  • Mobile Food Pantry - bring food to Durham families facing food insecurity.
  • Cristo Rey Tutoring - tutoring and mentoring low-income students at the local Catholic school.
  • Geer Cemetery Service Days - help restore a historic African-American cemetery.
  • Serving Meals to Families Moving Forward - prepare and serve a home-cooked dinner to families facing homelessness at Families Moving Forward.
