National Vocation Awareness Week
Promoting vocations to ordained ministry and consecrated life through prayer, invitation, and educationĀ
This week, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrates National Vocation Awareness! This annual week-long celebration began in 1976 and is dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education. The U.S. bishops also ask the faithful to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these vocations.
If you are discerning a vocation to the priesthood, diaconate or consecrated life, you should consider daily personal prayer, increased attendance at Mass, reception of the Eucharist, more frequent confessions, practicing the virtues, and speaking with a trusted Confessor or spiritual mentor who can guide you in the process.
