ENCOUNTER: Social Justice

Grounded in Catholic Social Teaching, the advocacy efforts of ENCOUNTER: Social Justice raise awareness for social issues such as poverty and homelessness, capital punishment, and human trafficking. Encounter hosts speakers, discussion panels, and events to address social justice issues of our world through the lens of faith.

J-Ville 2016

The “J” stands for Justice! J-Ville is a Duke Religious Life social justice initiative aimed at bringing attention to social justice crises in our world through service and education. We aim to engage and connect the Duke and Durham community through speakers, service events, awareness, and prayer. This year’s social justice issue is a living wage.
